Raven Eyes by Michael Steven Tunstall during National Poetry Month

Raven Eyes

When I looked into her raven eyes,
like two enchanting sirens of ancient times,
they drew me in and held me tight.

But like all exotic things,
this love I could not cage,
and so I set her free, to fly away.

And while in nightly rest,
as my mind sweeps away its cluttered stores,
it oft brings to memory those raven eyes
that forever hold me close...
